Kindergarten lays the groundwork for every child to grow as a member of a community focused on the school’s motto: Love in every word, Respect in every action, Confidence in every heart. Together, these three pillars that we begin building in kindergarten support your child’s experience throughout all years at QP.
Our program prepares your child for first grade socially, emotionally, spiritually and academically. Our philosophy is social in nature. If the social and emotional foundation is solid, the academics come with readiness activities. We find that many children enter kindergarten with emerging academic abilities, but lack the social skills necessary for full participation and cooperation in school.
Your child will learn the rules of the classroom, such as raising a hand to talk, waiting turns, listening and following directions, and being respectful to the teacher and friends. We will also learn about Jesus as our friend. We discuss and practice sharing, cooperating, and problem solving as Jesus would have done with his friends.
The kindergarten curriculum emphasizes: writing, math, religion, centers, movement, large group activities and free exploration. QP kindergarteners also participate in special coursework beyond the kindergarten curriculum:

The school offers two options for families enrolling in kindergarten. Two rooms accommodate full-day kindergarteners while a third room enrolls extended-half day learners.
QP’s well-honed kindergarten program is applauded by all those involved: students, parents and teachers in later grades, especially first. The program is seen as the essential initial step in the strong academic reputation QP students have achieved. The exemplary credentials and experience among the kindergarten teachers makes each school year a new opportunity to build new strengths into the children’s days.
